And no matter how early I start this planning process, I still manage to stress myself out each year. I really try to avoid the gift card route, because I love giving gifts that have some thought or usefulness to them. But at the same time, coming up with those things isn't always easy. So the "gift guide" Googling madness begins. "Gift ideas for boys, gift ideas for friends, gift ideas for co-workers, parents, siblings and pets...." Why can't it all be in one place? The organizer in me really likes things in one place. #nosurprise
So when my dear friends, Bridget and Casey from the DIY Playbook blog, approached me to not only let me know they were putting together the ultimate holiday gift guide, but to also invite me to add a few ideas myself, I was ridiculously excited. I really respect each of the individuals they asked to contribute to this beautiful spread of ideas, and thanks to their input I have been able to begin building a really great list of gifts to give (which means I am ahead of my usual game this year!).
Each blogger curated a collection of gift ideas specific to their area of expertise, so now I know what to get my peeps that are pet lovers, exercise fanatics and party throwers.

We have been extremely spoiled with wonderful weather this fall, so I am having trouble wrapping my brain around the fact that Christmas is near. But I am grateful to be getting a jump start on list making and gift purchasing so I can really soak up family gatherings, volunteering, baking cookies, attending holiday programs, hot cider and cocoa dates with the kiddos and snuggling in by the fire.
A special thank you to the DIY Playbook ladies for all of their hard work putting together this extremely handy guide, and CHEERS to a stress-free gift giving season!

Love this. Just posted my own gift guide today for the best toys and books that my six kids have really loved! http://theirchronicles.blogspot.com/2016/11/christmas-gift-ideas.html
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea! I am also so in love with your fireplace. I wish mine had the same beautiful tile yours does!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous book - can I please have one of everything you chose? x
ReplyDeleteJen -- I have been scouring the internet for something exactly like this! Thank you so much for posting this! There are a lot of people on my list that are really difficult to shop for so it's so nice to have all these ideas at my fingertips! I'll definitely be adding that dipped basket to my own wish list, too! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing!! We are so honored to have you on board. =)
ReplyDeleteLove this gift guide. You guys all killed it. My favourite bloggers all in one place!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen! Speaking of holiday gifts, is there a planned release date for your planner? I really want to start planning 2017 and love your planner 💓
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Amy! ❤️ Just proofed my pages today, need to make some final tweaks and I am hoping to have it released soon. I really love how it turned out this year!
DeleteOMGosh, I can't wait. I use my planner for work, too...and I have many 2017 things I need to start on.
DeleteHi Jen! Are there links to the products anywhere? Thanks. I love the hanging toiletry case and the zig zag throw and am wondering where they were purchased. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Katie,
DeleteAll of the images in the gift guide should be clickable and linked. The links are embedded into the products right on the pages.
Thanks so much! Great choices!
Oh my gosh... I swear I tried that before and it didn't work. LOL -- of course it's working now. Thanks sooooo much. OBSESSED with this blog.
DeleteIt's a beautiful gift guide! I don't start decorating for Christmas until after thanksgiving but love to have everything planned out before them! I actually just did a 15 days to an organized Christmas series on my blog & included a free Christmas planner for anyone to download! http://emmamariedesigns.blogspot.com/2016/11/the-master-list-of-affordable-gift-ideas.html?m=1
ReplyDeleteI hear you! The weather has been shorts and t-shirts here (which is not typical) and next Saturday we've scheduled to Deck the Halls. It doesn't seem real. I love your list, especially that dipped basket. I almost bought it plain at Ikea Monday but it was missing a little "something." The dip paint treatment makes it perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas, Jenn! Great post. http://supersimpleways.com/
ReplyDeleteThese are great.. love those glass canisters.
ReplyDeleteI have an odd question. I have been eyeing that beautiful garland that lays across the mantle above your fireplace for years and this Christmas season I found some at Trader Joes. I draped it over my fireplace and fell in love. 2 weeks later, it is dead. Like REALLY dead. Shedding all over the floor and I'm literally worried it might spontaneously combust over my gas fireplace. Is it normal for it to die so quickly?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Brandi
Hi Brandi,
DeleteI think I put mine up late enough in the year last year that I didn't experience too much drying, but I tried again this year, and I had the same issue you did. So I pulled it down and went with something different. I don't think I will be using the cedar garland over a heated fireplace again... Super pretty but not cut out for the heat long term.
It might also have to do with how it is prepped and how long it was cut prior to hanging it. Either way, I am sorry to hear you had trouble with it this year.
Merry Christmas and happy 2017!
