Back to today's feature! When I first saw KariAnne's craft space over at her blog Thistlewood Farms, I just knew I had to
But enough of the reasons why I am crushing on this crazy cool space; KariAnne is here to share why this space works so well for her clan.
What is the main function of this space?
"This space is located in our guest house and it is for crafters only, wink wink. I have twin daughters and we love to craft and I needed a place for all of the craft supplies to call home."
Any superstar tips for keeping it organized?
"I love the bins on the built-in shelving. Each bin is labeled with the item that goes there, which makes it so easy to keep everything it its place. Also, the wall across from the built-ins is covered with pegboard. I used pegboard attachments to organized everything from wrapping paper to scissors."
What items did you find were essential when organizing the space, and why?
"I think that the built-in cabinets were the perfect choice for the space because I needed a place to store scrapbook paper. There are organizers in each unit to provide additional storage."
What did you do to go the extra mile and "Make it Pretty"?
"I added a polka-dot rug from IKEA {super affordable at $19} and pink chairs with cushions. I love the fun zig-zag chair for comfort and a place to read about more projects!"
What items did you DIY to stay on a budget?
"We DIY'd the built-ins and the shelving. The bins are from the dollar store and the flooring is peel and stick tile from Lowes. It was definitely a budget remodel that is perfect for the space."
How has this space impacted your life for the better?
"I'm crafting more than ever now! I love having everything at my fingertips. No more searching for paper or tape or ribbon or scissors. Everything has found its home!"
What I love most about this space is that there are so many ideas that could be borrowed and reinvented for many other types of spaces as well. An office, a laundry room, a storage room or garage are all great candidates for an oversized pegboard, wall to wall work surface, shelves for days and bins with superfantastic labels.
To see what this space looked like before KariAnne got her hands on it, and to find out every last detail regarding the space itself, check out her blog here. And prepare to stick around there for awhile, there is goodness around every corner!
So what do you think? Could you get your craft on in this pretty in pink room? Are there any moments that you can take away and incorporate into your own creative spaces?

ridiculously awesome!
ReplyDeleteI really love this craft space, I would love a space like this as my family and I have crafting get togethers quite often. What really attracted me to this space is the colors, pink, white and black is really growing on me. I actually just brought a pair of rubber glam gloves that are pink with a black and white zebra cuff. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWow is right! Wow! Great space, great colors!
ReplyDeleteI NEED that black and white chevron chair!!! LOVE!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that is super pretty! I love that rug! Such a small space, but utilized very well and it looks amazingly lovely!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I need that rug. The closest IKEA is almost 8 hours away until Thanksgiving-ish and then it'll be almost 3 hours. Close enough to go get fun stuff!! I love all of her black and white with the bright pink. Such a great craft room!
ReplyDeleteExcuse me as I pick my jaw up off the floor. WHAT?! I think I was meant to craft something in there. Eeek. Seriously good stuff. That rug. Those chairs. The pink. Bravo. Great feature.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I have a chair exactly like these in the exact same color--love it!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Very black, white, and pink.

wowwww....sooooo pretttyyyyyy.....:))
ReplyDeleteWhat are those folded up wooden things (lap tables?) hanging on the wall and what are they for? There are four of them, they look like they have black and white big polkadots on the bottom and smaller polkadots on the legs. (But I'm not sure what they are so I'm not sure those are legs or the bottom for that matter.) Anyone able to help me out? What are those and what are they used for?
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I seriously love those pink chairs and that rug!
ReplyDeleteWOW i love this space!!
ReplyDeleteI love the bold use of color and how organized everything is! I wouldn't do pink myself but I still love the result here!
ReplyDeleteI love the black and white and great pops of pink. This is such a cool space! Organized but yet very warm and inviting. Makes me want to start crafting...
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing my craft room, Jen! Thanks friends for all of the kind words, too! Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteLove how the bins were used. Lids make it that much harder to put things away, but having only the open top means the items in the bins do not create visual clutter.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love this. It's not just a pretty space but it seems to be a well functioning space too. All of the items that coordinate with the décor are visible but you've also created a space for ribbons etc to be stored out of site. It looks so inviting and makes me want to create something now!
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! I wish I was just HALF as organized as that ;)
