33 IHeart: Cash Envelopes & a GIVEAWAY!

Earlier this year I shared our handy dandy budget binder and the cash envelope system that we paired with it.  You fine friends expressed your excitement then, so I hope you are equally as excited now to know that this week's giveaway is sponsored by A Time for Everything!

Melissa, owner of A Time for Everything, creates the most beautiful cash envelopes in a variety of lovely fabric options, and sells them in her Etsy shop!

For those that use the cash system, her envelopes are a beautiful way to carry your moolah, while keeping it organized by category thanks to the plastic tabs.  I like to stick correlating coupons within each category too, so everything stays together nice and neat.  Melissa offers all sorts of "add-ons" within her shop too, such as coin pouches, labels for the dividers and printable spending logs!

Today, Melissa is visiting IHeart Organizing to giveaway two sets of her Cash Envelope system to two lucky readers {one each}, which includes the laminated envelope with dividers, coin pouch, labels and spending log printables!  Wa to the hoo!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

From now through June 4th, IHeart Organizing readers can receive free shipping from A Time for Everything!  Click "Apply Shop Coupon Code" at checkout and enter IHEART.  {Free shipping applies to domestic orders only, but international customers may leave a note at checkout requesting a refund equal to the amount a U.S. customer would save on that order.  Free shipping codes may not be used on the purchase of a Carry-It-All Wallet.  If you should make a purchase during the promotional period, and ultimately win the giveaway, you will be refunded for your purchase}.

Thanks everyone and Good Luck!!

  1. My Favorite cash ever spent was when I saved up my money as a kid to buy a sewing machine. I felt so grown up & proud of myself for saving enough money on my own to buy a grown-up purchase instead of toys or something that.

  2. They are lovely!

It is a shame the giveaway is open to the US only...

    1. I totally agree - so many beautiful products to drool over but us international readers miss out! Will there ever be giveaways to those of us who don't live in the US? cheers from New Zealand

    2. My giveaway hosts set the eligibility requirements, which often times means that they are only open to US residents {due to costly international shipping rates}, however, I do look to work with companies that are willing to give to all my readers whenever possible. Hopefully I can find more companies to ship internationally in the future. Love ya all like crazy!

    3. Thank you - totally understand as I know international shipping rates can be very steep. Us international-ites also just have to dream about some of the wonderful-sounding stores you have over there too - Staples, Michaels, Target etc etc. We don't really have anything of the sort here which offer the same range and reasonable prices you get over there. Nevermind, we live vicariously through you Jen!

  4. Oh man I need to win this! My husband and I are reviewing our budget in the next couple weeks so we can get our spending back on track and have more to put in savings each month. Will need to read more about how you guys did it! :)

  5. Those are some neat looking envelopes! I have thought about doing the cash system, but have never done it. Our bank is still in the cities and not local to us and where we currently live. I never switched banks as the customer service just can't be beat. Not very convenient to drive over 50 miles round trip to the bank twice a month. We don't venture over to our old neighborhood very often. I really do love the concept of the cash system though.

    1. I know some people make an initial purchase at a grocery store with their debit card and then get the max cash back (grocery stores seem to have the highest amount) so they can do the cash system that way.

  15. I bought one of her envelopes after you posted before, and I love it! I actually use it for coupons, so they are always handy and organized by store or type (restaurants, clothing stores, etc.) Now I want several because I keep thinking of different ways to use them!

  16. Yay! I love these envelopes! (I bought one after seeing yours.) Question: Could you be specific about how you use yours...such as, when shopping at Target and buying both food and household stuff, do you divide up your purchases into those categories and pay separately from each budget category, or do you make a single purchase and take money from each category to pay? Just curious... :)

    1. Great question! I have done it both ways and it depends on where we are shopping and how easy it is to split it up. I typically just put the groceries on the belt first, ask for a subtotal and then put the rest on. Or adjust based on my receipt after the trip. I usually have a good idea by the time I get to the register of how much my total in each category will be, since I keep track while shopping to stay within the budget to begin with.

      xoxo!

    1. Hi Suz!

My giveaway hosts set the eligibility requirements, which often times means that they are only open to US residents {due to costly international shipping rates}, however, I do look to work with companies that are willing to give to all my readers whenever possible. I love y'all equally! :D

    2. Another factor is that with giveaways, the sweepstakes regulations of every individual country that's allowed entry have to be satisfied. Compliance with such a vast number of international laws would be extremely challenging. (Some countries even impose taxes on the person hosting the giveaway if a resident of their country wins!)

And yes--international shipping rates essentially doubling in January didn't help. :(

  19. That's such a nifty idea! I would love to own something like that and If I don't win it, I am definitely still going to purchase. I'm always separating cash into different sections of my wallet now but this is just so much cooler. :)

  20. My favorite cash spent was for Thanksgiving last year. I purchased all baking items since we had just moved in to our new place and didn't have much money, we bought everything we needed to cook Thanksgiving dinner from the dollar store for under twenty buckaroos!

  23. Love it! I believe this is for me because I like the design and the colors and the size is just right. Very portable and this is exactly my style as I don’t want to take bulky wallets with me when I go somewhere. I love freebies and giveaways too so this is great opportunity. I really, really need to win this.
