First, the glitter!
When I created the memo board for the studio, I knew I wanted to add some family photos to it, since they make my grin ear to ear each day and it's important for me to be happy in my work zone. And since I am into gold and glitter, I had a little plan to marry the two and spruce up the clothespins I would be hanging the photos from.
I pulled out my Silhouette...
And cut out a few different sized arrows to see which I liked best...
Once I had the size figured out, I cut more arrows out, this time, using their double sided adhesive paper.
The double sided adhesive paper has a allows your cut object to have a sticky front and back, so I stuck the one sticky side to the clothespin:
I kept the thicker paper on the top of the arrow to give it strength so it would not flop over once I added the gold glitter to it.
After I generously poured the glitter onto the arrow, I brushed it off and was left with a lovely sparkly arrow clip.
I repeated the process until I had enough to bring down to the studio for the memo board.
Then I just strung some twine between two pushpins, picked some of my favorite instagram shots and clipped them up!
They are the perfect happy addition to the studio!
Second, the promotion!

ReplyDeleteSo stinking cute! I love this project.
ReplyDeleteI was looking through your Silhouette blog posts last night trying to figure out when you were going to do another giveaway/sale! I was really thinking February 1!!! If I were to purchase one would you recommend the portrait or silhouette? I have a cricut and just sold all of my cartridges on ebay and plan on using that money to buy the silhouette.
ReplyDeleteHi Greta!
DeleteI love both the Portrait and the CAMEO. The CAMEO has a few extra options and is definitely larger, but I love the portability of the Portrait and that it does almost everything I need with ease. You can't go wrong with either but if you still need help, you can see a comparison chart here: http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/selectASilhouette.aspx

Great giveaway and thanks for the great tutorial!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so disappointed that the giveaways are only for residents in the USA or Canada. I am more then happy to pay the delivery fees may I win...
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about that! Unfortunately, the giveaway host {company} determines where the products can be shipped to and the eligibility of the giveaway. I try to work with companies that will offer giveaways to all readers as often as possible.

ReplyDeleteHi Jen!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to recreate the same arrow on my portrait but am having a hard time finding that particular arrow design. Did you buy it from the Silhouette store online? Or was it one of the 50 designs it the software came with? I cannot find it anywhere! Thanks so much.
I purchased it through the Silhouette online store, it came in an arrow bundle: arrows by Kolette Hall.
