Last year, we went with a simple ribbon display on our pantry door...
It worked great! But, I felt like mixing things up this year. Weird, I know...
For this project, I borrowed the frame from a memo board I had made for our studio, and temporarily popped the cork out {it can easily be re-attached after this project expires}. I just love the frame so much, it seemed perfect for the project.
Then, I used bakers twine to string between the edges of the frame. I just stapled the twine onto the back of the frame {holding it in place with a small knot}.
The next step was to determine how to hang the cards from the string. Mini clothespins to the rescue, paired with pretty washi tape.
The small clips are the perfect solution for quickly gripping the holiday cards!
I used blingy ornaments and paper cutouts {made with the Silhouette}, to fill in the empty areas of the frame until more cards come in the mail.
For added flair, I labeled the wall... again...
I created the vinyl cutout with my Silhouette, and it is completely removable after the holidays come to an end.
I love walking through the front door to see such happiness and all of the smiling faces of our loved ones! I definitely brings us joy!
So great! I love to decorate my clothespins with washi tape--so much easier than contact paper or gluing on scrapbook paper! And I'm really jealous of all your great daylight photos.

I love this project, Jen!! We haven't begun receiving Christmas cards yet but I've been thinking about how to display then and I do have some medium sized frames that I could paint & I have mini clothes pins on hand, just need the twine and a few simple print-outs and flat ornaments. Thanks for the inspiration, I repined this!!

I've been so excited to be back in the States and get Christmas cards {on time} that I haven't even though to display them! Since it's late in the game, I think I'll use your fantastic ribbon idea from last year!

DeleteI find mine on Etsy, and some shops even sell both! :) I like to purchase a few at a time to save on shipping charges as well.
I have started seeing some paper tape and twine being sold at craft stores, such as Michaels and even Paper Source.

DeleteThank you for the ideas!!! I have been struggling this year with what to do! 2010 I strung ribbon up like the #2 link, but last year I didn't want to cover the pictures I put up. So instead I did something similar to link #3. It just didn't work for me. So now I have a ton more to try and I am so excited!

I hang rows of string on a wall just inside the entrance to our house and clip the cards into bells that hang from the string, but it looks so empty until the cards start to pour in so I think I'll try to fill those spaces with some cutouts, etc. Thanks for the idea!
