FLOR carpet tiles popped each of us over a few boxes of carpet tiles to play around with, and that is exactly what we did.
They actually let me select which tiles I wanted, talk about a major impossibility! Their selection is AMAZING!
When it came to selecting tiles and which space was going to get the FLOR love, I ultimately landed back in our playroom. I know I know, I am already on rug numero dos in there {this would make the third}, but let me explain.
The rug in there worked great with the last layout, but when we added the benches... check out what happened...
There was a giant gap between the end of the rug and the entertainment center on the other side of the room. And finding a rug that was more square than rectangular, hasn't been the easiest on my internet browsing skills. It just wasn't "right".
Since FLOR tiles can be placed in any pattern, in any shape, size and configuration, I knew they were a great option for the awkward play space. And since they can be picked up, washed and reused {if they ever get dirty}, again, the playroom was the winner since my kids practically live in that space.
Once I removed the previous rug {which now lives in my studio - SCORE!}, the room already felt bigger and better!
Surprisingly, I decided to stay boring and go with a neutral. Out of all the fabulous colors and textures, I pick a standard herringbone neutral tile. I just didn't think the room could handle any more bold colors, which made me sigh inside, but it was absolutely the right choice. Plus, the texture and pattern absolutely rock my world!
Laying the tiles was super simple. Like the big kid that I am, I was able to install them all by myself. I stared by measuring and equal distance between the tiles and the square of the bench...
And laying down the out edge.
See how great those tiles fill the whole space? It really evens things out!
Moving the tiles around was really easy! I love that they have a rubber backing so they don't slide around, yet I can still move them around until things are just right.
Look at how much brighter and bigger the room looks! LOVE.
To ensure things don't move while the kids are building legos or train tracks or playing "Just Dance", once I had the placement right, I connected the tiles together with the stickers provided with the tiles.
Now, everything is nice and secure and looking fabulous!
Third time really is a charm! The kids now have a super plush, soft and large space to play!
Now, you can go through the challenge of selecting an amazing set of tiles for one of your spaces too! Flor is offering one lucky IHeart Organizing reader 30 carpet tiles their choice! ReplyDeleteThank you for the oppertunity to win. I have wanted these for years. My neighbor got them for her high traffic living room area rug and loved them... and still loves them. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI was curious, are the tiles 'cushy' like a rug would be? It's been the only thing holding me back from going with FLOR, they just don't look like it'd be that comfortable to sit on when playing with my kids.
ReplyDeleteMPMK sent me over this way! Thank you! And awesome site!
ReplyDeleteI would love these in my living room and daughters' bedroom!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I have never heard of these before, but am in love with the concept! This would be a great addition to the opening up and setting up of a new playroom for the kids! MPMK sent me over here, crossing my fingers!

ReplyDeleteGreat Post and love your blog! A few months ago I bought some FLOR tiles for the first time to use as a hallway runner and door mat in a foyer wood hallway. I was looking for an alternative to regular carpet runners and something heavy duty for high traffic use by 2 labradors (pet hair) So far so good...the rubber backing is fantastic and they look like new every time I vacuum. Picked up a few spare tiles to have on hand as well.
ReplyDeleteOh boy I love this idea ...your room looks fantastic!

ReplyDeleteI was literally just looking up Flor tiles as a possibility for our dining room. Fingers crossed now!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic product, I am already planning out what I want! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteThis looks really great (and soft and squishy!!!) Your playroom looks fantastic. One question though- I know you have the Allure vinyl floors down there. We have similar floors and in our floor manual it says absolutely no way to rubber backed rugs on the floor because the natural rubber reacts with the vinyl. Are these FLOR tiles natural rubber- and if so, are you worried about them damaging your basement floor?
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting FLOR tiles for a few years now but can't decide what color/pattern would work best in a knotty pine paneled room (yes, gross but my husband loves it so I am working with it, UNGH!). Suggestions? Because I'm gonna win so hard!!
ReplyDeleteyour play area just inspired me! You did a terrific job and the FLOR carpet looks amazing!!!! I wish, I wish I'd win, we just finished our basement and it needs a lot of warmth, especially the floors. :-)
