My brain is a little fried today so excuse the complete randomness of this post. I accidentally put my makeup/lip-gloss on before I brushed my teeth this morning if that gives you any idea how my day is going...
I am spending the day working on some things with Emily today and the first thing I saw when I walked in to her home was her spring mantle. Isn't it pretty?
I may need to replicate - love it!
We had a crazy busy weekend, but I managed to play with some heat transfer materials that Silhouette sent my way. I made some new pillows for the shared boy's bedroom...
And one for the playroom....
So stay tuned to see how I work those in with some projects I have waiting in the wings. And more details on how simple the heat transfer process is {along with a promo and GIVEAWAY} later today...
I can't begin to thank you all for the sweet as pie comments regarding the HGTV special that aired this weekend!
I have to apologize that I couldn't let you know sooner. It was one of those things I was asked by the network to keep "hush hush" until I heard from them . I happened to get a tweet from the super fabulous Sabrina Soto on Saturday day letting me know that the show was airing that evening. Eeek! So no time to gather all the folks for a viewing party or give you more than a few hours notice, but I have to say, it was all good! I am so happy I was home and able to record it and watch it with my hubs and little guys. Not to mention that it was such an amazing once in a lifetime experience and I can't wait to share all the details with you this week. As of right now, it doesn't look like it is going to air again, but I will keep you posted and do what I can to get some video clips for those that couldn't tune in. Then you can see my super adorable fam and catch me in all of my nervousness... Anywho, all of you are the kindness blog readers in blog land and I can't ever express to you how much I appreciate you. Seriously, you give me happy tingles daily.
I have been receiving some comments about the speed of ol' blog lately. And when I say old, I mean it. It is like 95 in blog years with lots of photos and old posts... We have been trying to problem solve and tweak things to fix the lags {yes, it's even driving me bonkers}. I am now exploring options to hop off of blogger and try something new but I am still exploring at this point. I promise to keep you extremely updated and I appreciate your understanding as things migrate, update, and change. It's going to be a big project that won't happen over night. I can handle the ease and design of blogger... everything else is foreign to me, but I am willing to step out of the comfort zone for sake of the blog...
On a final note, did you see I got to personally crash a local home last week?
It was one of the coolest blog experiences to date and I can't wait to do it again. Let me know if you are local to the Twin Cities and would be interested in me popping over with my camera to share your super organized space{s} with my lovely readers here!
OK, off to focus some time on the Thirteen82 Chronicles project and pick out some paint colors! Wahoo!
Have you had any off mornings lately? Feel free to leave a comment with your "Case of the Monday's" story!
Did you hand make the blue pillow? If not do you mind sharing where you got it? I am looking for some pillows that exact color. Love the owl! Turned out super cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy!
DeleteActually, a friend of my sewed it up for me, but I found the fabric for it at Joann.
Hope that helps!
xoxo,
Jen
Jen it would be so much fun to have you out once we get our new home in order! Congrats again on your tv spot; and I know some people commented on your FB page asking for your recipe binder and I think that would be awesome if you haven't shared the deets on that one already!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly!
DeleteI have an oldie post on the subject, but hope to update it soon!
Stay tuned and thank you!
xoxo,
Jen
Ol' bloggy loaded much more quickly for me today! :) I'm looking forward to some video clips (hopefully!) since I didn't get the announcement in time to watch. Oh, and Monday... at least you have some make-up on. I've been homeschooling in my jammies all morning (note to self: sleeping in seems like a good idea at the time, but it's really not). Have a good afternoon!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you got that post up when you did -- b/c it was perfect timing for me to tape it! I always wondered how much notice they gave everyone on their shows -- haha now we know eh? =) Can't wait to hear more about the paint and the pillows! <3 Happy monday love!

Off Morning? I guess so! I have 4 munchkins, 3 of which have adhd and on spring break right here in West Central WI. I am still in my jammies! I did, however, make myself a real functional roman shade this morning out of Waverly's lovely lattice jungle fabric. I am sooo in love!
ReplyDeleteVirtual high fives to you! Congrats on the new shade, that has to feel great to have accomplished! It sounds lovely!

I totally watched this episode the other day! I was watching with my boyfriend and said "Holy crap! I know her...well I read her blog! That's so cool!" lol Gorgeous house and you were definitely the coolest organizer on the show!
ReplyDeleteBlushing and THANK YOU! Love how we all become "friends" though the blog world. It rocks!

Jen
I can SO relate to this being an off day! Bad time for it too. I'm part of a blogging challenge to get organized and it's my daughter's 8th birthday. Am really trying to get my act together to finish the day's school (we homeschool) prepare for my sweet one's party and get something done on this challenge to clean up and clear out. I'm just struggling to get with it today!!!
ReplyDeleteTook a quick break and came across your blog. Am looking for help in my organizing activities, so glad to have found you. Will check back for ideas as this month proceeds.
Hope you made it through your day with a giant smile. xoxo!
DeleteI wish I could have caught that episode! Missed it, but can't wait to catch clips here. I am on the western edge of WI, 10 miles from the eastern suburbs of the Twin Cities, MN. My house is organized. Maybe not quite "Jen" organized, but I am working on it. ;) In the process of spring cleaning and we just finished emptying my FIL's house and garage out; he passed away last summer.
ReplyDeletehey jen! so bummed to have missed the show! do let us know when it airs again - i am an org tv show junkie! :-) would love to see the show - and you!
ReplyDeletebtw, i had to laugh out loud...your boys in the photo wearing socks? that is SOO my boys. except, they wouldn't even have sock on - they would be barefoot...and my 5 year old may not even have pants on. boys love to go shoeless...and clothes-less too...if you let them. :-) just had to smile when i saw that one. boys are awesome!
samantha :-)
I agree - my boys rarely want to wear their clothing, and I thought it was just our kids... whew! :)

Jen
I live in the western susburbs of the Twin Cities and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you to crash my house :) My kitchen organization is from your blog, but I have so much more that could be done :)
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome!! Congrats on the feature!!
ReplyDeleteLuckily I like you on FB so I got the news in time to see the show! It was great to see you on there. You, your family and your house looked beautiful! :) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYour segment of the HGTV show was great and your family is darling. Perhaps this is not a "once in a lifetime" experience for you? You never know! Congratulations on your success!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a chance to see you on HGTV! Let us know if it comes back on again.
ReplyDeleteMy "Monday Moment" came as I was reading your post and I realized I had to go pick my kids up from preschool! I shut the computer and raced off. Thankfully I was just a *tiny* bit late:)

Oh my! Glad you made it in time! :)

My goal is to be organized to be enough to be good enough to be featured here!
ReplyDeleteMonday off day- yes! I've spent half the day on the phone trying to resolve some issues and they're still not fixed. Reading blogs puts me in a better mood and yours is always on my list! Congrats on the HGTV show!
ReplyDeleteAgree, reading blogs is so motivating, inspiring and uplifting! Love it!

Jen
While you're exploring bloggy options, I highly recommend Typepad. Super user friendly, great customer service, and way less of a headache than self-hosted Wordpress.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the tip, I will be sure to keep that in mind!

Jen
I hate that I missed the show. You are so right about her mantel - it's adorable!

Hey Jen, I recently started Bookmarking and following this wonderful blog and I just want to say that you are an inspiration! I Absolutely LOVE to organize.I'm currently getting ready to go to college this fall(dorm life and all) and I'm really excited to use my organizational skills there-I will need it! I'm extremely glad I found your blog.I feel that getting my life organized early on in life will help me tremendously in the future. Thank you for sharing it <3
ReplyDeleteHold the phone????? What are you talking about. look how adorable you guys are. What? Where can I see it? Will it replay? You are my hero. Too cute and too awesome and soooooooo bummed I missed it. Tell me more!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, I was so disappointed that I missed the Clean Freaks airing. I did a quick search on HGTV "watch clean freaks" and I found it!!! You can watch it online!!! You can't see it on an iPad because it's on adobe flash but I could see it on the computer!!!
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for letting those of us who missed it know about that!
DeleteI am so bummed that I missed the show. That is so exciting and I'm sure you were fabulous. We just got back from vacation. I was completely relaxed and stress-free... until today. My Monday involved me realizing I left my purse (with $200 in vacation money) at the restaurant we ate at last night (it was there WITH the money - Thank You Lord!), going bra shopping and trying on 18 bras and buying zero, and getting a call from my son's teacher about an incident at school. The stress has returned full force!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness! Hope the day ended on a high for you! Thank goodness that you found your purse, such an awful feeling the moment you realize it was left!
Deletexoxo,
Jen
I'm a frequent visitor as of late and I saw the show and knew I'd seen that laundry room somewhere recently!! Came here and it was confirmed. Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to watch it online right now! I'm so excited! :)
ReplyDeletecould you ask emily where she got the butterflies for her wreath? i have been looking EVERYWHERE for butterflies just like that and can't find them. Thanks!!!!! erincyoung (at) yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteHi Erin!
DeleteI just printed out a butterfly that I found while searching google images. I cut it out and then traced it on to magazine pages that had fun/colorful pictures!
I tried to find a paper punch to achieve the same results but I couldn't find one that wasn't crazy expensive so I faked it!

I haven't been to your blog but a couple of times but I'm loving it! I love anything to do with organization. About the slow blog...I have problems with certain blogs loading very slowly but only when I use INTERNET EXPLORER. A friend told me to download GOOGLE CHROME, which I did, and the blogs load much faster. I don't like Chrome as well as IE but I hate slow loading so I'll put up with it. Congrats on your HGTV experience...wish I could have seen it. Thanks for all the ideas you share.

ReplyDeleteOops...I forgot to ask something. Do you know where I could find some small baskets similar to the ones in your post? I have been looking everywhere but haven't found any and I need some desperately! Thanks:)
ReplyDeleteToday was really rough. Got the kids in the car and out the door for the first day of school after spring break. Drove my daughter the 25 minutes to school only to find out school starts tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow gets off to a much better start.
ReplyDeleteOh no! So sorry, hope your day ended better than it started!
DeleteHappy Tuesday!
xoxo,
Jen
Do you know if the show is going to re-air? I saw you post exactly 30 minutes after the show ended! I couldn't find the show on my DVR so I might have just missed out. Maybe it was a one time deal?
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS Jen! What a great opportunity. Can you give more deets on the show? I would love to see it. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo crazy!! I was watching that show this weekend with my mom and I loved your ldeas!! I was just blog hopping today and clicked on your blog. Such a small world!:)
ReplyDeleteNEWEST FOLLOWER!
I NEED my morning coffee, so I get it! :) Hope you were able to make it through the day with smiles!
