Glad you were wondering! I was updating my Home Tour tab. Crazy enough, it's the most visited page on this blog. And it was a bit outdated. So what was going to be a quick update {I was just going to insert that floor plan I promised you all yesterday}, turned into hours upon hours of updating. Am I complaining? No way my friends! I couldn't be more thrilled about some of the changes I made! {Hopefully you will share in the excitement}
Like....
That's right! I added floor plans for the upper and lower levels!
Now, when I chat about the blank slate family room or the lack of light in the studio or the side table in the guest room, you will have an idea of "where" it is in our home! Sweet eh?
2. Updated pictures!
All of the photos are the most current, real time photos that I have. I vow to be better about keeping that page as up to date as possible. I even updated and added a couple of extra "before" pictures to show how we have evolved over the years. It's always crazy to look back at what once was...and a major "what the bleep what I thinking?!"
3. You asked: Where did you get that?
I deleted my old "home source" tab. Why have a home tour and home source tab? Essentially all of the same photos. Update one, update both. No thanks. That's just a recipe for outdated content. I recently found this really cool linky website {called ThingLink}, that now lets me pop the sources right into the photos themselves. It's the coolest feature EVER!
Wondering where something is from?
Just hover over the photo and small dots should appear {must be in the House Tour tab for true experience}:

ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome!!! I plan on making a tab just like this once I actually start redoing all of my rooms in my house. But, I could definitely add my home floorplan already. Thank you for all the wonderful ideas you have given me for my own blog. I think we have a lot in common! ;)

ReplyDeleteWhat program did you use to make your floorplan?

Jen
Awesome! Thank you bunches. Excel is my favorite, so I will use that too. :)
DeleteWOW! Your entire home needs to be in a magazine!! Love your style. And what a cool idea to be able to hover over something, to find out where it is from. Can't tell you how many times i have wondered that on other blogs - and usually the blogger is too busy to field individual questions. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE that I found your blog a few weeks ago, I have been getting my already somewhat organized home kicked into high gear with my level of organization and LOVE that you inspired me to do so. ReplyDeleteIt's from Pottery Barn - I had a $25 off coupon making it much more affordable.
DeleteThe hovering only works in the home tour tab at this time...

Hey, want to have a Spring Break meet up at that overstock thrift store I told you about near down town Minneapolis???
Gah! Such an awesome idea for a tour, and I LOVE your home, such bright colors! I was wondering, how many square feet, including the basement, is your home?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteTotal square feet is around 2400, including both levels.

Jen
This is awsome!!
ReplyDeleteWow, very cool!!! LOve, love, love your house...
ReplyDeleteLove the home plan - you did a great job. Just wondering - did you consider putting a door (or pocket door from the dressing room to the bathroom? Might not be a big issue for you to walk into the playroom and then into the bedroom now but it might be convenient in the future when your boys are older and have guests.
ReplyDeleteOh, we talk about it all the time! It's definitely on the project list, not sure how hard it will be to install a pocket door, but it would be pretty perfect there! :)
Deletexoxo,
Jen
Amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!!
