So far we have made delicious hot cocoa, read holiday stories, built a snowman, watched a holiday movie with popcorn and had family game night. On top of my husband traveling for work and life being as crazy busy as always, we are still making sure we squeeze in all of our activities. I really adore that it is helping us slow down and appreciate really special moments with one another.
But enough mushy mush.
Today we get to write a letter to Santa! A tradition we do every year, but this year, I made a printable! YAY!

I also thought it would be fun for everyone to link up their little ones letters to Santa. I know I said no holiday linky parties, this was totally a spur of the moment thing because I just couldn't resist this one. Something about the sweet and innocent thoughts of a kid during the holidays... gets me every time!

ReplyDeleteWell, this year my 3 year is all into Christmas and he asked me if Santa would bring him a hippo - umm.... sorry buddy we dont have room in our house for a hippo! haha

ReplyDeleteI always wonder how modest my daughter's wishes are, and she thinks about other children a lot. We talk about how difficult it might be for other families who have to struggle and we always give away a shoebox full of presents for somebody we don't know - there is an organisation here in Europe that's called "christmas in a shoebox" (Weihnachten im Schuhkarton), I bet you have that in the US, too.
When she was four, my daughter wished to have an apple for christmas and when I asked her, "what do you want to do with an apple?" she said - "Bite off, Mama".
Yes, it was silly of me to ask! ;)
Thank you for the lovely printable. I'm going to do it with my DD today. Hopefully, it'll give me a bit more insight into what to get her for Christmas. Currently, I have NO idea. She doesn't ever seem to want or need anything around this time of year.

ReplyDeleteMy five year-old asked for a guitar and a microphone and then asked three very important questions: 1) Do you wear a winter coat at the North Pole?, 2) How do the elves make all those toys and 3) What does Mrs. Clause do, bake cookies or help you run your toy business? She specifically requested a letter in response. Santa or one of his elves better get on that!

ReplyDeleteLOVE this as well. This year we let our kids ask Santa for 3 things. Our 4 year old daughter counted them out on her fingers for him and the 1st thing she really, really wanted and asked for was mint gum - the girl loves minty gum! Ha ha! Her twin brother asked for tools...REAL tools.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter asked repeatedly for a dancing baby that she claimed she had seen on Max & Ruby. We all thought it was a toy from the show that didn't really exist until a couple days ago. We were watching Max & Ruby and during a commercial she said, "See...that's what I was talking about." Sure enough...there's a Dance with me Baby.

ReplyDeleteMy 10 year old son listed 16 Lego items and then wrote..."PS: Santa, if you can't get everything on my list, just try your best."
My 6 year old son wrote down 3 items and #4 was "See me for more ideas..."
My 8 year old son just wrote down 1 item...the Lego Black Pearl. I think Santa will appreciate that!
