You all know I am a lover of pretty things. And one way I try to give myself pretty printables and labels and even a pretty blog, is by incorporating a variety of fonts and colors.
My favorite thing to do is to mix and match fonts together. Typically handwriting style meshed with a simple clean one. And bright colors. Lots and lots of color. Just like I enjoy incorporating color into my home, I love it in ALL areas of my life!
And you have been asking, "What fonts do you use?" So without further ado, here are my top 10 favorite fonts right now {in alphabetical order}:
I am sure there are amazing font packs out there, but if I see a font I adore, I just Google around for it until I find the free download. My favorite font websites to find and download text for any project are 1001 Free Fonts and dafont. I also love many of the whimsical and handwriting fonts that Amanda from Kevin & Amanda, has provided here and here.
So there you have it! Who is excited to start whipping up some super pretty labels now? {Here is a tutorial on how I do it}.
What are your favorite fonts? How about great "go to" font websites that you adore?

This is FAB! Thanks Jen! One burning question: how do you create the multicolored fonts? Do you color each individual letter, or is it a trick or download? I'm dying to know. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love both the places you mentioned. I also love dingbat fonts for finding images to cut out with my digital cutter!
ReplyDeleteTHanks for sharing! I'm a crazy font junkie!!
ReplyDelete@Ilona, I manually change each letter to the color that I pick. No magic trick to that up my sleeve! :) xoxo, Jen
ReplyDeleteCute fonts! I think I have about half of them already. :) No other font websites to add. I use dafont.com and kevinandamanda.com a lot. I love the multi colored words and use those on my printables too. It just makes everything more fun! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI heart the font styles you like. Thanks for sharing all of them. I heart Kevin & Amanda's fonts & dafont. Great places to look for some great fonts.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! I am a font lover (being a digital scrapbooker, you can never have too many) - and I have been looking for one like Honey Script FOREVER!! I saw it in a magazine and fell in love, only to never be able to track it down. I was told it was a purchase-only font with another name (can't remember off hand what I was told). Anyway, THANKS!!! I love the others, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting those! The font Earwig Factory was made by my cousin - it was a free font from his Larabie Font days. Now he makes fonts for a fee at typodermic.com.
ReplyDeleteso generous of you to share. thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting what fonts you use! I love the fonts you use! Love your blog too! I look forward to reading it every day!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! You are awesome.
ReplyDeleteNow...Could you share what's included in your blog organizing section? I am getting so scatter brained! Can I buy them in your shop?
I love that you picked some of my most frequently used type faces! My current favorite site for fonts is http://www.fontsquirrel.com. Nothing like a new font to motivate me to get labeling. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing these! I love the fonts you use, so it will be nice using them on some of my household projects. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't normally comment, but I couldn't resist this time-I love fonts! I agree that fontsquirrel.com is my current fav, and I have to share about whatthefont.com (redirects to http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/) Even though myfonts is mostly paid, it is SO nice to be able to find the name of an unfamiliar font just by submitting an image and hunt it down for free! :)
ReplyDeleteIf your ever looking for more fonts, one of my professors from art school has a font site: http://www.haroldsfonts.com/
ReplyDeleteallthingsfee.blogspot.com
I love Lettering Delights. They're not free (usually about $4/font), but they have dollar days pretty often, and that's when I get them. My favorites are LD Shelly Print and LD Shelly Script. I also like a lot of the Creating Keepsakes fonts (free). My favorites of those are CK Cursive and CK Journaling. Fonts are fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI love dafont. I could spend hours on there! Thanks for the tutorial. Would never have thought of Microsoft Excel having all that good stuff!
ReplyDeleteahhh I cant think of the names of my favs! I use a few of the same ones as you (LOVE THEM!) and then a few other quirky ones even though my favorite font has a N that looks like a U... that trips everyone up! hehe whoops!

Jenn @ Peas and Crayons
Usually if I'm playing with fonts I use the fonts they have in picnik.com My favorite is Weneslas which is great for fancy holiday writing. Thanks for the information. I haven't check out fonts lately.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me?ALL DAY yesterday I was googling what font budmo jiggler was...bubble font with dots, dot font, cute bubble fonts, everything dot font..I heart organizing pretty fonts..no success and then this morning I see this! haha!! too funny!!! Thank you sooo much!!! xo
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I have been looking for some of these recently, but if you don't know the name of a font it's hopeless... like Chantelle said. ;)
ReplyDeleteNow I downloaded two of these and will probably use them for some labels around the house. I have some fonts that I really like: One Stroke Script, Bohemian Typewriter and Airplanes in the Nightsky. In Germany we have some additional letters that you dont have: ä, ö, ü, ß... I wish the designers would think of that when they design a new font so we can use it here, too - without confinements.
Bye,
Jule
Thank you for sharing!!! I was clueless as to the free downloads. I'm still learning -- but I'm going to order a little laminator soon and go to town on labeling! Now everything will look more appealing. :)
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered where you find your awesome fonts! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for this awesome post. I am new to the blogging world, so I am still trying to get my page the way I want it and this has really helped me out. Is there a certain website that you used to create your header? That is the next part of my layout I am changing.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Kristin

@Kristin, I did all of the graphics for the header and sidebar in photoshop. I know so little about photoshop, but I can do text! :)
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Jen
Interesting to read that post. You are really understand how to catch the viewers. Wow Good Thanks for update.
ReplyDeleteMany many thanks for tell us your favourites, I love the BUDMO JIGGLER :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found your blog. I love your boy's room, and more importantly, so do my boys! Thanks for your ideas!
ReplyDeleteQuestion for you. I go to these font sites and go to download and it says open or save. When i save it, it saves it as a zip file, when I go to try to open it, it won't do it. What am I doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I always save the file as a zip, open and double click the font file to install. It typically runs pretty smoothly. Not sure if we have different operating systems or how I can help?
ReplyDeleteSorry my friend! xoxo!
Okay, Have wanted to do this for so long! Thank you! I downloaded the font I like and I can open it- then what? It's in a zip and I can see all the words like "quick brown fox"... do you drag it somewhere? Right now it's on my desktop. thanks!
ReplyDelete@theconciergemom, I have an "Install" button at the top of that screen that I just have to click and it installs right into the correct folder. Do you see that?
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Jen
I have a great idea for you... you should create your own colored font so you have not to change each one individually... best regards! Im pretty sure i´d download it!
ReplyDelete@Reyna! I agree, wish I knew how to do that?
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Jen
I just found your blog and can't get enough of it! It looks like your font list is gone. Do you have it posted some place else??
ReplyDeleteThese are great fonts, but it'd be awesome if you provided direct links to download...some of us are just too lazy to find them by ourselves! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat font are you now using for your current page "iheart". Our women's retreat team wants to use this exact font. Does it come with the little heart over the "i". We love the simplicity and preciseness of it.
ReplyDeleteHello!
DeleteIt is HaloHandletter. I added the heart graphic on my own after the fact. :)
xo,
Jen
