I would love to dive in and give it a super instant clean sweep, because I know it needs some major organization! But it's going to be a huge time investment to completely overhaul this little baby of mine.
So I set a goal to tackle one or two things off the blog update list each day. Most will hopefully be seamless or help you with your navigation, or minor things like sidebar updates and changes to my graphics. Those smaller things won't be getting a special blog post to point out the change. Others are a bit more dramatic... like me changing my hair color!
A new hair color means that I needed a new profile picture! So now I have one {thanks Emily!}
And the all important page header!
I am excited to whip this blog into some serious shape. Just consider me the Jillian Michaels of IHeart Organizing. Only, with blonde hair.

ReplyDeleteI was reading your blog when your new pic uploaded. I clicked a link and suddenly you were blonde. Back button...brunette. Forward button...blonde. I did this a few times just to confirm I wasn't crazy!

ReplyDeleteLove the new header and picture! About the header, I totally agree with a previous commenter who said that it is colorful and clean, and to me, the cursive font adds whimsy and fun. I think all of those are great representations of your blog and home! I'm excited to see the other changes as you roll them out! :)

ReplyDeleteI have an organizing dilemma that I'm sure others have also. In one word - recipes. Being a pretty organized person myself, my recipes drive me bonkers. I already have several binders divided by category, a binder for our family's most favorite recipes, cooking magazines from over the years, recipe cards in a pretty basket, print outs from blogs, cookbooks and then there's the recipes that I make straight off of the computer (and forget to print!). I like to try new things for the most part, thus lots of recipes. Guess what drove it all home was yesterday, my dd who is home from college for a couple of days said - make that really good pasta salad dish that you made last summer. I spent a lot of time throughout the day racking my brain trying to figure out where I found that recipe. Time for a recipe overhaul - need to access it all in one place! So, I thought of you and wondered if you had any more recipe organization tips since you last shared your insights with us. Would make a great post .

ReplyDeleteI was a blondie growing up and eventually it started getting darker and darker and became so much maintenance to maintain it that I went brunette. I agree, I love the blonde more though! xoxo!
