As a gal, I tend to bring half of my bathroom with me when I travel. Everything from hair supplies to lotions to cosmetics and toiletries. It can get to be a bit much.... I am guessing I am not alone?
How sweet would it be to have a tote specifically designed to organize all those girly needs, when packing up for a weekend getaway or a four month trip across country? Today my lovely ladies, I will show you the perfect way to turn packing time into blissful time.
My pal Brooke, independent consultant for Mary Kay, introduced me to this sweet way to organize a whole slew of beauty supplies, into this one easy to transport travel bag!
The Travel Roll-Up Bag is the perfect compliment to all of your girly girl products and is an all in one must have organizer for cosmetics, skin care products AND accessories!! The bag features a black nylon exterior and pretty pink interior with a black swivel hook for easy hanging!! Plus, it offers clear, plastic zippered compartments that keep beauty supplies organized whether on the road or at home! ReplyDeleteMy ziploc baggie organization is a great tip (plus always pack a few extras - they don't weigh a thing or take up much space) - but this Mary Kay organizer looks amazing!
Iheart organized travels lists are the key!
ReplyDeleteI Heart Organized Travels!
ReplyDeleteI love making lists in order to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.
iheart organizined travels. I never ever pack without having a packing list. It makes it so much easier to make sure I have just what I need and where I need it.
ReplyDeleteI liked her facebook page.
ReplyDeleteI Heart Organized Travels! I like to pack outfits in individual ziploc style bags. It makes traveling with four children much easier.
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized travels and I can't go on any trip without a list! That and snacks for the kids.
ReplyDeleteI think this tote is lovely and would be honored to add it to my collection. One way I stay organized on a trip, would be to use one of my daughter's tips where she uses a portable nylon shoe organizer for different outfits during the time she's away. This shoe organizer fits into her bag easily and doesn't allow clothing to get mixed up.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Zazzy

ReplyDeleteTraveling with a family of 5 is insane!! So I list everything for each kid to make sure we don't forget anything. Underwear and socks are separated in large ziploc bags and labeled and clothes are rolled in suitcases to save space.
IHeart Organized Travels! My traveling tip/rule is baggie EVERYTHING. Hair ties, lotions, makeup, and of course all liquids. Oh, and I always baggie my contact solution separately from everything else!
ReplyDeleteI Heart Organized Travels!
ReplyDeleteOoooh I want one of these! Right now I do NOT like the way I organize my stuff and we go visit family for a long weekend at least once a month. Pick me! Jesva10 at aol dot com
Oh and my tip is to take pictures of all of the family's outfits together before you pack them for a special trip. I just did this for our Disneyland trip and I wanted our outfits to coordinate but not be too matchy. (I scrapbook our family trips) Anyway it really helped me visualize and decide what I didn't like before we left!
IHeart Organized Travels
ReplyDeleteLike many others I always put my toiletries in plastic baggies. I put the shower items in one so it's easy to grab to unpack just those items for the shower and I put items I'll use at the sink area in another. Helps cut down on a little bit of time packing and unpacking if we're staying in several different places, like on our last big trip where we drove coast to coast for a big move.
IHeart Organized Travels
ReplyDeleteI always roll my clothes to make them cram into my luggage easier.
As well, I always use Ziploc bags for any liquids or powders just in case they explode. No one wants nail polish all over their sweater!

I Heart Organized Travels!
ReplyDeleteI love keeping a list,
as well as keeping my suitcase organized by outfits rolled together!
IHeart Organized Travels: I tend to always forget something, so years ago, I decided to leave a list in my makeup luggage bag for what I want to take. And, I leave things in there that won't get old (no lotion, cream, makeup, etc.)
ReplyDeleteSome of the things on my list are:
suntan lotion
hair clip
Q-tips
tweezers (you can't imagine how many times those have come in handy)
little scissors
razor
bandaids
chapstick
neosporin (bug bites, cuts, etc.)
shampoo
conditioner
tooth paste/brush/mouthwash
contacts
sunglasses
Shout wipes
safety pins
jewelry
Before throwing away those old underwear, get one more wearing on vacation and then throw them away! Less to bring home!
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels!
ReplyDeleteI use mesh laundry bags to create a little 'packing cube' of each day's clothing. One bag per day contains all I need to get dressed. Grab a bag - everything is in it I need to get dressed.
Also, I use bubble wrap to create a jewelry roll for each day - lay the bubblewrap flat, place necklace and other jewelry on it, then roll up and secure in an umbrella cover (or with rubber bands). Safe and tidy!!
IHeart Organized Travels, but I'm NEVER organized! I over-pack, so that's my tip: Don't over-pack.

I have a MK bag already! It is soo awesome! I love that the pockets are clear so you can see what you need and it hangs on the wall! So easy to organize make-up in and take on the go! Whoever wins will love it!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite packing trick is to stuff a couple dryer sheets into my bag. My clothes always smell fresh, even if my suitcase is a mix of dirty and clean things halfway through the trip! :)

ReplyDeleteIHeart organized travels. I got the kids rolling backpacks... now they pack their own bags. Bonus: they think it's really fun to be in charge of towing their own luggage around in airports. Bring it on -- less for me to carry
ReplyDeletelaura@godsib.net
IHeart Organized Travels and my tip for staying organized is to make sure all things of similar sorts are together in a bag or section of a bag, such as teeth stuff together...hair stuff together...etc. Then it's all there to find!
ReplyDeletelauren51990 at aol dot com
I Heart Organizing Travels. I always use lists (although I still lay awake the night before we leave thinking I forgot something). My MIL bought me a jewelry organizer and it's perfect for making sure all your necklaces and earrings don't get all tangled together. Honestly, I'm horrible when it comes to packing. I could really use this MK bag.
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels. I would love to become MORE organized when I travel but I guess my tip would be that I usually take a couple of extra quart or gallon size baggies with me. Seems like they always come in handy for something - putting the little bottles of shampoo, etc. in them, hauling shells or rocks home, putting a wet swimming suit in them and the list goes on.

ReplyDeleteI Heart Organized Travels :-)
ReplyDeleteI know this has been mentioned already, but I also roll (rather than fold) my clothes when packing.
IHeart Organized Travels! I organize everything by bags, bathroom things in one bag, shirts in one bag, pants in another bag. Weird? Don't know, but it works for us ;)
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels! Since we have a baby on the way, the trips we have taken since I've been pregnant, I've tried to assess everything I bring with me while on the trip and pick one or two things I did not use while on the trip to not bring the next time. I know that the baby doesn't need a lot, but on a trip, they come with a lot of items. Plus, I can always sneak something into the diaper bag if I decide last minute to bring it so I don't have to unpack everything =)
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels - I make a list of all the clothes and accessores to take and then only take what I can mix and match so I can take as little as I need without compromising on my wardrobe choices! If time permits I'll even try them on just to be sure :)
ReplyDeleteI Heart Organized Travels! I have a Mary Kay travel bag and I love it! I always make a list to use before I go on vacation and I use that same list when packing to travel back home to ensure that I don't leave anything behind. :)
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels
ReplyDeleteI love planning family getaways and I make sure I do my research for must see and do and I do create an itinerary for our trip 100% of the time. This ensure we maximize our time!
IHeart Organized Travels...my tip is that I roll clothes...seems like I can fit more in. AND I have a computerized check-list...
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels... I take a garbage bag or some kind of bag to put my dirty clothes in so I don't have to pack around clean clothes with dirty clothes together.

ReplyDeleteI use a packing list that I keep on lifejot.com. I pack the same items in the same bags each time so I always know where things are. I pack as much as I can myself and verbally tell my husband what he needs to pack. I read a tip that I want to use: Take along a pop-up mesh laundry hamper and put a trash bag in it. Use it for your dirty clothes. At the end of your vacation, lift out the trashbag and put in your suitcase!
IHeart Organized Travels! When I travel I like to roll up paired outfits together. Makes life a little easier. I also bought a nice suitcase with a bunch of pockets on top and along the sides, which helps tremendously :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you have a chance to read this, can you do a post on how you organize your makeup sometime? I have so much trouble finding the right size drawers or baskets to store my makeup collection..so it could sit on a dresser top.
Thanks again! This is an awesome giveaway.
Iheart Organized Travels! We just got back from vacation and the one thing I did this time around was roll my clothes. It saved so much space in the suitcase.
ReplyDeleteandrusinaz(at)gmail(dot)com
IHeart Organized Travels - I actually used to own this awesome Mary Kay organizer and it was my best organization tool during travels - but have since lost it :( and would LOVE to get a new one
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels! I bought inexpensive small clear zippered cosmetic bags at Walmart that I used to categorize my toiletries and small stuff. First Aid items in one, laundry supplies in one, medicine in one, kids medicine in one, etc. Alot of these items are things you want with you but you don't always use and they use to end up with all our toothbrushes and shampoos. I then put all the bags in a small flexible cooler. We like having the cooler bag with us for taking drinks and snacks while on the trip and it doesn't effect the weight of our luggage. The trip we just went on was great. We could see what was in each of them and retrieve it when we needed it and it stayed organized. I think it's going to be great for packing next time too because I made a list of what I want in each pouch. I am considering putting it on an index card in the case in the future.
ReplyDeleteI "Like" Brooke's Mary Kay page on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels! I use themed bags for car trips.
ReplyDeleteOne bag/cooler for the snacks.
A bag for the electronics - iPods, GPS, Cameras, etc.
If there's a stopover where we'll just need part of our stuff, then that goes in one bag so we don't have to haul everything in that night, but I make sure it has the toiletries and a change of clothes and the like.
Also, on longer road trips, once the dirty clothes start accumulating, then we keep one bag of them in the car and move the dirties there each morning as we load up.

I liked the Mary Kay with Brooke E page on facebook
ReplyDeleteIHeart Organized Travels. try packing outfits for kids in big ziploc bags. they stay all together and you can pack shoes in same bag because they won't touch clothes
ReplyDeleteI heart organized travels. If we are driving somewhere and then just unpacking (like my parents house) I will use laundry baskets instead of soitcauses. I can leave everything on hangers and I have a laundry basket for dirty clothes and can just stack them all together. It's great. I don't have to store the suitcases anywhere.

IHeart Organized Travels! I have Excel checklists for every kind of travel - business via airplane, business via car, houseboating, camping, etc. I print out the spreadsheet I need and mark it up as I pack. Once I return from my trip I add anything for next time, update the spreadsheet on my computer, and I'm ready to go next time. My husband teases me, but he does appreciate the efficiency - really!!

ReplyDeleteAfter having to travel 2 hours to our families home for holiday weekends, we have become pros at traveling. I always check our travel size items after we get home. I check to see if anything needs replaced and leave the travel toiletries packed for the next trip. It's grab and go. And I make a packing sheet(it's elaminated and use a dry erase marker for the checks) to double check before we leave for the trip and before we leave to go home. Everything should be there and nothing gets left behind, which I learned the hard way.

IHeart Organized Travel! I have found the secret for us is to pack the kids' stuff in gallon-sized Ziploc bags.
