I had already blogged here about our little chalk board project. But we have since made a slight change...
Can you see what it is?
Nope, it's the the quality of the picture. Nope, it's not the fact that I am actually using the board like crazy all the time....
Hint, THIS is what I saw...
So THIS is what I did!
A quick 5 minute fix to the chalk that kept rolling off the chalk board edge and breaking into pieces on the floor! I had been thinking about cups and buckets and all sorts of contraptions, yet all seemed far to large for the given space. Who knew that an upside down drawer pull of all things would be by far the best and most perfect solution!?!
Thank you once again Pinterest for making my day, week, month... you know! {For those wondering how to find me, here is the link to my Pinterest page}
I thought it would be fun to do a little link party this week, dedicated to Pinterest inspired projects!
And a button for you:

It wasn't from Pinterest (so I didn't want to link above), but I found this fun & easy 4th of July Fireworks Art Craft:

Genius! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI pinned that idea, too. It was ever so simple but so perfect!
ReplyDeleteSo this may sound crazy, but what do you use to erase your chalk board? We made one for my son's room and the chalk dust is driving me nuts, though it doesn't seem to bother him! I have tried to a chalkboard eraser and an old rag, but neither seem to work. Please help this crazy lady! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a brilliant idea! Pinterest is wonderful, isn't it? I have looking for a solution for my chalk storage problem too, so thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm crazy over pinterest lately! I saw that chalk storage too and hink it's just brilliant! I now follow you on Pinterest!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of copying your chalkboard for my daughters room. At the moment we have magnetic paint and chalkboard paint on the door but are waiting for teal paint to paint the edges. I should her yours as an example and she wants it to be the same. Thanks for the draw pull idea!
ReplyDeleteSOOOOOO smart! Thanks for sharing and I'll have to look you up on Pinterest as well! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and Happy Fourth of July!

That is such a good idea! The hardware you used is the same as on our kitchen cabinets. We have a chalkboard in my kitchen that we painted with chalkboard paint. When I use chalk-ink markers, the markers won't come off all the way. Got any ideas of how to fix this?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen for checking out my projects!!! I pinned the same chalk holder/upside down handle you showed :) You should totally do the coasters... they are only 16cents! so cheap and easy and soooo many possibilities. Thanks too for the sweet comments on the stairs, I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and it was super easy and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Pinterest ROCKS.. as does your blog :)
ReplyDeleteI linked my Pinterest project but I don't think I ever reference the fact that my inspiration/kick-in-the-pants to get started on it came from images I saw on Pinterest. I've always wanted a haint blue porch ceiling but I never remember I want one until it's porch season, aka 1000 degrees out. But I was surfing Pinterest on my porch and after seeing some amazing blue porch ceilings, I decided I was tackling it once and for all. So happy I did it!
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone!
ReplyDeleteA. Chalk pens didn't work for us either. They have left permanent markings all over the board.
B. According to the directions on the Rustoleum chalkboard paint can, I guess you are supposed to wait three days before using the newly painted surface. Then, you are supposed to "prime" the board by going over the entire thing with the side of a piece of chalk. Never did that on this project because I didn't need to read any stinkin' directions, lol. That also may be why my paint pens don't work?
C. I wipe down the chalkboard with a wet rag each week before writing in our new menu.
Thanks so much!
xoxo,
Jen
Aaand now I had to repin that and do it for our chalkboard!!
ReplyDeleteGenius! I am so glad I found you through Tip Junkie today and decided to stay a while and check out your blog. I turned my kitchen pantry door into a chalkboard a few weeks ago and the chalk storage issues has been driving me NUTS! :)
