It's no secret that I adore you! I seriously LOVE each of you and virtually hug you more than you know! You are my support, my daily drive and my blogger bff's! THANK YOU!
So, it was a no brainer that when I shared my living room purge story, and so many of you became interested in my extra set of Pottery Barn Vintage Skeleton keys, that I would give them away to one of you!
I shared this morning how I am trying to sell of my purges to gain a few smackaroos. However, I also heart to give. Nothing beats that feeling. So I am today!
But first, let's back up a bit. I was planning on sharing my love for keys in a future post anyway, so you get a two for one.
Something about the word, "key" gets me giddy. Maybe it's from that saying, "Key to my Heart". Not sure. They just represent HOME. And FAMILY. My favorite things.
So I wanted to display some of my love of keys in my living room. Since it's the heart of our home.
I started out by taking a picture of our house key with my "love" keychain {I just placed it on a piece of pretty scrapbook paper}:
It was the perfect personal art for above our shoe cabinet:
And as I mentioned, I had two sets of 7 vintage keys. I snagged three of them, gave them a fresh coat of white spray paint {I love the cleaner look it provided for this particular project}, and matted them on some pretty wrapping paper which I tucked inside a frame:
I just placed the glass in the back of the frame {so I can always switch it out later if I choose}, and used dabs of hot glue to affix the keys right to the paper:
And it was the perfect filler piece of art in our new built in bookcases:
That means I still have 4 more keys from my first set, to find a home and display for...
And since I really don't need 14 total keys, I am going to GIVE A SET OF 7 TO YOU!
"Displayed on a wall or used as paperweights, our vintage-inspired gate keys create instant character."
And the details to enter:
1} Become a follower of iHeart Organizing over on the sidebar, and leave a comment that you are. Also let me know how you would use the keys if you win them!
2} For a second chance to win, also follow my Facebook Page and leave a second comment that you do.
Anyone in the US is eligible and you will need to ensure you leave your email or blog address so I have a way to contact you when you win!
Giveaway will run through Sunday, April10th and will be announced right here on Monday!
Many "Thanks" again to all of your for your endless support of IHeart Organizing!

ReplyDeleteI'm one of your faithful followers and LOVE your blog! I have been looking for some keys to fill in a space on my foyer gallery wall. It's the last space I need to fill but haven't been able to find any that I like. I would frame some of these for that wall and also put some in my living room.

ReplyDeleteI am a new follower. I would frame them one at a time with one of my favorite quotes...giving them as gifts to my 6 siblings. Keeping one for myself. "All we want in Christ, we shall find in Christ. If we want little, we shall find little. If we want much, we shall find much. But, if in utter helplessness, we cast our all on Christ, He will be to us the whole treasury of God! Henry Whipple 1822-1901
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower of this blog and would be lost without it! ;)

ReplyDeleteI follow your FB page
ReplyDeleteI have been following for several weeks. I LOVE your blog!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE these keys. I'm on a really tight budget, and I live in this really neat one-bedroom apt in downtown colorado springs. The building was built in the 1930's and little has been done to update it. It has lots of "character." Anyhow, I've been trying to decorate on a VERY tight budget, but these keys would look fantastic in the little wall space I have to fill. They would compliment the old doors, doorknobs and old windows. I love getting crafty and the possibilities with these babies are endless it seems! Love them!!
I "LIKE" ya on facebook!

My mom always had a set of vintage-style keys hanging in the hallway of my childhood home. I'd hang these keys just like Mom did. :)
ReplyDeleteI am a follower.
I'm a (blog stalker) follower both here and on facebook. My idea for the keys would be to use them as love notes to my husband. I would like to attach a diy tag to each one with some pretty ribbon or maybe even some string for a simpler look and on each one write a reason why I'm so completely head over heals for him. Maybe I'll leave one on his pillow each night or slip it in his pocket before he leaves for work in the morning...? I would love to do this because he has been so loving and supportive during this pregnancy (we're having our 3rd son) even when I have been more than unpleasant on many occasions. Then after he has received all 7 I can display them in a shadow box and hang them in our bedroom <3
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower and I HEART your blog!! If I won the keys, I'd display them (somehow) in my hutch in my family room!!

ReplyDeleteLOVE these keys. If I happen to be the crazy lucky winner I will be hanging them over the front door of our new house. We share the same "issue" with a tiny entry way right into the living area so they will be seen from living room and dining room! Love them! Fingers crossed!!!

ReplyDeleteHi Jen, your blog is wonderful! It's actually my first blog obsession. I've been following for about a week now but decided to become official when I saw the keys. They are fabulous. Oh the ideas I have. One would be a necklace of sorts and then with the rest probaly in my newly organized mudroom (thanks to you, I finally pulled the trigger). Anyway thanks for all the great inspiration.
ReplyDeleteJody
I follow you and I think I'd use some of the keys for decor in my entertainment center, but the others I'd probably hang off of pretty ribbon and hang them on the wall.
ReplyDeleteI follow you and adore your blog. If I won the keys I would first make a cute sign to remind my hubby to hang his keys (car and church) so he will be able to find them quickly. Also we live in a house built in the 30's so some of them might actually work! Ha ha. Thanks for the give away and always encouraging use to organize our lives. Melissa
ReplyDeleteI guess I wasn't the only one that wanted those keys when you posted about them! LOL They are so gorgeous.

I also follow you on facebook. I love keys so much. I have an old antique one I got in Dubrovnik, Croatia hanging by my door as well as some in shadow boxes. And I took it further and got a key and matching lock tattooed onto my wrists! Keys are mysterious and romantic, and I can't get enough of them!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, I check your blog every day but just now became an actual 'follower' and, I had already "like" your page on FB.
ReplyDeleteIf I win the keys I think I'd like to put them all in a shadow box. I have to think of what else I'd like to do but definitely display them how they are originally.

I'm a follower! I love your blog! I think I'd use the keys in some box art or a serving tray or simply hang them on the wall. I'm not sure why, but I love keys too. You're so generous, I love this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI like [<3] your facebook page too.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of your blog. I would use these keys on my picture wall I have. They would make the perfect addition to put in random spots in between photos!

ReplyDeleteI've been following your awesome blog for a few months now and just LOVE your style and tips! If I was so lucky to win those beautiful keys, I'd do a project similar to what you did and proudly display it on our mantel! :)

ReplyDeleteI am a follower, redoing my entry way right now (as in taking a break from painting at this moment :) These would look wonderful in there!!
ReplyDeleteI am a facebook follower too.
ReplyDeletehi Jen! I'm practically your neighbor (Minneapolis!!) and I would use the keys to FINALLY propose to my boyfriend of 3 years (yup, I am going to do it!) He's the key to my heart and we've been talking about it for about a year, gone ring shopping, it's time to do it!!
